What an ace way to spend Easter Monday - down the Dog watching a selection of Derby's best bands.
Bank Holiday All Dayers used to be a big part of the scene. I have fond, if somewhat hazy, memories of the ones at the Garrick and it was knowing what a big impact they had on the scene we've got today that made me want to bring them back. That and the fact that nothing happens at all on Bank Holiday Mondays anymore.
I'm glad we did. Working with Sarah at Noble and Wild we a great time listening to local bands and putting together the line up for the first one.
For a small city there is a phenomenal amount of absolutely awesome bands that would more than hold their own on a national, or even international, stage.
But it was to our small stage that we welcomed Harriet, The Indieannas, The Lonely Robot, DISEASESOFVENUS, Cheap Jazz, Alright the Captain, Yakobo and James Warner Prophecies. All of them great at what they do and enjoyed by the small crowd.
We're already looking forward to the next one on 6 May when we have even more great local bands headed our way.
